According to EW.com, the currently controversial Kanye West has been nominated for nine BET Hip Hop Awards, earning the most for any contender this year. West is up for the categories Lyricist of the Year, Best Live Performer, CD of the Year, as well as six others.

The event will take place in Atlanta on October 10, and as of yet, West has neither confirmed nor denied that he will be in attendance for the awards show.
