Even in death, Michael Jackson will perform to record-breaking, sell-out crowds. Advance screenings of the documentary “Michael Jackson: This Is It” have sold out within hours after tickets were released, according to a report form the Associated Press.

The documentary, which opens nationwide on October 28,  is compiled from hundreds of hours of rehearsal footage of the “King of Pop” preparing for his 50 sold-out comeback shows, which were scheduled to begin July 13.

Outside the U.S., ticket sales are also strong.  More than $1 million in tickets were sold in Japan on the first day of their release, according to Reuters. In London, where Jackson was scheduled to begin his comeback tour, fans bought more than 30,000 tickets on the first day, surpassing advance ticket sales for the “Harry Potter” and “The Lord of the Rings” movies.
