ESPN’s Monday night broadcast of the football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers made cable history thanks to its 21.8 million viewers, reports Broadcasting & Cable.

The Oct. 5 “Monday Night Football” game not only broke prior ESPN and cable records, but also received more viewers than any other program that night, including the popular ABC show ”Dancing With the Stars.”

The Vikings-Packers game likely drew crowds due to quarterback Brett Favre, who was playing for the Vikings against his former team. The Vikings won 30-23.
