On Tuesday, the nominees for the American Music Awards were revealed, with Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson leading the pack. The country crooner and the late “King of Pop” both received five nominations.

Beyonce, Eminem, Lady Gaga and T.I. were also among the nominees. This year, viewers will be able to vote for their favorite nominee in the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist category on ABC.com.

Adam Lambert announced the same day on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show that he would perform the first single from his upcoming album at the AMAs. “We’re bringing back a glam-rock kinda feel to pop music,” Lambert told Seacrest.

The Twitterverse has been talking about the AMAs, with many Tweeps expressing disappointment at the nominations, and others tweeting their favorite musicians to root them on and drum up votes.
