The biggest names in hip-hop came together for BET’s Hip-Hop Awards, which aired Tuesday night, MTV.com reports.

Jay-Z and Young Jeezy kicked off the previously-recorded show with a performance of “As Real as It Gets.”  Jay-Z went on to win the MVP of the Year trophy, beating hip-hop bigwigs Lil’ Wayne, T.I., Drake and Kanye West.

Drake took own his award, Rookie of the Year. Ice Cube was presented with the “I Am Hip-Hop” Lifetime Achievement Award and the late DJ AM won DJ of the Year.

Besides awards, the show boasted performances from some of the biggest names in genre.  Goodie Mob, Snoop Dogg, and Gucci Mane all gave live performances, and taped performances from Joe Budden, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, and KRS-One were shown.

Tweeps were disappointed in the quality of the show, but were excited to see performances from their favorite artists:
