“Sex and the City” author Candace Bushnell has plans to publish a tween prequel to her popular novel entitled “The Carrie Diaries,” according to PEOPLE.com.

“The Carrie Diaries” will focus on Carrie Bradshaw’s life in high school, giving the reader insight into her early romances, how she became a writer and her relationship with her mother.

The sequel of the film version of “Sex and the City” is scheduled for a May 28, 2010 release, just a month after “The Carrie Diaries” is published on April 27, 2010.
