During an “In the Spotlight” interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, singer Janet Jackson revealed that her family was aware of the late Michael Jackson’s drug addiction, ABCNews.com reports.

Jackson stated that the family staged several interventions with Michael, but were ultimately unsuccessful.  While she believes Michael knew these interventions were out of love, she said Michael was in denial about his drug problem.

Jackson also stated during her interview that she believes Michael’s doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, is responsible for his death as he was the one who prescribed and gave Michael his medications, PEOPLE.com reports.  Jackson added that she believes Murray should never be allowed to practice again.

In response to Michael’s new movie, “This Is It,” Jackson said that she won’t see it for a while–if ever–because it is too painful to see images of her brother so soon after his death.
