Twitterville Reacts to Golden Globe Nominations
Singer Justin Timberlake and actors John Krasinski (”The Office”) and Diane Kruger (”Inglourious Basterds”) gathered yesterday morning to announce the 2010 Golden Globe nominations. Twitterers commended or lamented the selections.

Leading the nominations with six was “Up in the Air,” which received a nod for Best Motion Picture – Drama as well as acting nominations for George Clooney, Vera Farimga and Anna Kendrick. The other two nominations are for Best Screenplay and Best Director.
Other contenders for best drama include James Cameron’s sci-fi film “Avatar,” the Iraq War drama “The Hurt Locker,” Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” and the Harlem-based drama “Precious: Based on The Novel Push By Sapphire.”

The upcoming musical “Nine” scored five nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Original Song – Motion Picture. Actors Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard each received a nod for their performance in the film.
Other films looking to win the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category include the summer hit “The Hangover,” the Zooey Deschanel romance “(500) Days of Summer,” the cooking movie “Julie & Julia,” and the upcoming Meryl Streep comedy “It’s Complicated.”

On the smaller screen, HBO received the most nominations of any television network at 17. Two of its shows, “Big Love” and “True Blood” were nominated for Best Television Series – Drama, along with SHOWTIME’s “Dexter,” FOX’s “House,” and AMC’s “Mad Men.”
