Updated January 10: During a panel at TCA, an event for television critics and networks, NBC announced Howie Mandel will be David Hasselhoff’s replacement on “America’s Got Talent.”

Originally published January 7: After four years of judging on “America’s Got Talent,” David Hasselhoff is bidding the reality show good-bye. Hasselhoff told PEOPLE.com, “It’s been a rewarding experience and now I’m thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly.”

NBC will look for a replacement judge to join Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, but no candidates have been announced. The new season will begin this summer.
