Critics’ Choice Winners Announced

Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth hosted the 15^th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards Friday, January 15, on VH1. While tweeps liked Chenoweth for her high energy, many felt that her hosting duties did not play upon her strengths.

Presented in the Hollywood Palladium, the Critics Choice Awards honor the year’s greatest achievements in film as determined by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. The evening also featured a John Hughes tribute and a performance by Nick Jonas and The Administration.

Tweeps applauded the tribute to Hughes, with many saying it made them emotional.

“Inglourious Basterds” captured the award for Best Ensemble. The film also won Best Original Screenplay and star Christoph Waltz won Best Supporting Actor beating out Matt Damon, Woody Harrelson, Christian McKay, Alfred Molina and Stanley Tucci. The successes of “Inglourious Basterds” were well-received by the Twitterverse with many tweeps thinking that the film should’ve also captured the award for Best Picture.
