“American Idol” in Orlando Features Kristin Chenoweth, Arrested Contestant

Tonight’s “American Idol” auditions took place in Orlando. The classic Disney song “When You Wish Upon A Star” played in the background of many of tonight’s try-outs, but, as usual, the episode featured more dreams shattered than dreams come true.

Kristen Chenoweth, who recently hosted the Critics’ Choice Awards and is perhaps best known for her roles in “Wicked” and “Glee,” was tonight’s guest judge. The petite blonde didn’t seem to have much to say and wasn’t around for the second day of auditions. Still, plenty tweeps had comments on the actress-singer.

On the first day of auditions, Seth Rollins won over Chenoweth, as well as the other judges, with his soulful voice and touching relationship with his autistic son. While some in the Twitterverse loved Rollins’ voice and story, others thought his son’s special needs were sensationalized.

Another contestant that made it through to Hollywood was Cornelius Edwards, who split his pants during his enthusiastic performance of “Proud Mary.” Many “Idol” Twitterers seemed to think Edwards received his golden ticket out of pity.

But even ripped pants couldn’t stand up as the most bizarre audition of the night. Jarrod Norell’s rendition of “Amazing Grace” didn’t go over well with the judges or Twitterville, and when Norell wouldn’t take no for an answer, he had to be escorted out in handcuffs.
