After two short seasons of just 26 episodes total, FOX’s “Dollhouse” came to an end Friday night.

From the beginning, the show, which follows a futuristic lab that assigns different tasks to its various residents who have their memories erased upon the completion of their assignment, struggled to find an audience. Viewers outside of the cult following of creator Joss Whedon (creator of “Firefly,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel”) didn’t latch onto the sci-fi premise.

Still, FOX renewed “Dollhouse” for the 2009-2010 season amongst the concerns over struggling ratings. When the second chance didn’t lead to any growth, the show was given an end date. The series finale, however, ended up being delayed a week by the “Hope For Haiti” telethon.

Fans on Twitter seem split on the content of the finale, but all agree on their love for Whedon and are grateful to have what many canceled shows don’t get–a resolution.
