MTV announced the infamous cast of its hit series “Jersey Shore” will return for a second season of the reality show, EW.com reports.  After the record-breaking success of the season finale, the network has ordered 12 more episodes.

The show created a controversy when it first began but ended up tripling its ratings by the time the season ended. For season two, cast members J-WOWW, Mike (a.k.a. “The Situation”), Pauly D, Vinny, Snooki and Sammi will be sent to a different location that has yet to be determined.

Tweeps expressed excitement over the show’s continuation.  Some speculated where the new season will be filmed and if the show should continue to be called “Jersey Shore” if it does indeed take place in a different location.

In order to keep up the momentum of the show’s popularity, MTV will re-air the first season of  “Jersey Shore” in its entirety on Superbowl Sunday.
