“Avatar” placed first in the box office again, reports EW.com.  This weekend the film earned an additional $30 million, making its domestic grand total $594 million. It will soon likely break Titanic’s record of just more than $600 million. The film already broke the international record.

Mel Gibson’s R-rated drama, “Edge of Darkness,” debuted in second place with roughly $17.1 million.  Although the sum is lower than predictions, the number is still solid considering the film targets older males who don’t go to the movies as often. Closing the top three was another new movie, “When in Rome,” with $12 million.
