“Idol” Top 24 Recap, Ellen DeGeneres Gives Hopeful Angela Martin Second Chance
On last Wednesday’s “American Idol,” the top 24 contestants–12 guys and 12 girls–were announced. You can see the list of all 24 at the end of this post, but what got people talking wasn’t who made it, but who didn’t.
Single mother and three-time “Idol” hopeful Angela Martin was sent home last week to the dismay of many “Idol” fans. But thanks to the newest judge, Ellen DeGeneres, Martin will have another shot at fame. Just two days later, the 28-year-old singer from Chicago appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and DeGeneres surprised her big time: “Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi wrote the aspiring singer a song and she’ll have the opportunity to record it for a record label.
The Twitterverse has been congratulating Martin and remarking on the kindness of the two female judges ever since:
