Anyone who has been following the Conan O’Brien/NBC drama knows that this weekend marks a very important date in that saga. May 1 marks the day when NBC’s gag order over Conan ceases, which means that every media outlet and their elders are out for a piece of the action. But, as with anything in life, there are stipulations still at play for Conan, according to The Wrap.

One of those provisions is that Conan cannot belittle or derogate NBC or Jay Leno in an interview, which might collect a lot of groans from not only Conan’s fans, but also from the press figures lined up to interview Conan, the first of which is “60 Minutes.”

The CBS show is airing its interview with Conan this Sunday, May 2. The interview will be conducted by Steve Kroft, a former guest on Conan’s “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” show back in 2001. The second stipulation, which Kroft called “absurd,” is that CBS cannot air any footage of Conan to promote the interview prior to May 1st, which is Saturday.

Hmm…. Can we expect a huge promotional push during the day on Sunday before the interview? Or will CBS come up with some creative way to market it? What do you guys think?
