“Sherlock Holmes” stole the box office last Christmas, and Christmas 2011 is expected to be no different. EW.com reports that the movie’s sequel will be released on December 16, 2011 and will once again star Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams.

Guy Richie, who directed the first “Holmes,” is also set to direct the sequel. Filming for the second installment is anticipated to start this summer, and fans are already excited:
