The Jersey Shore cast has started us off with some of the first awards of the night!
SNOOKI and SWAY presenting BEST FIGHT
WINNER: BEYONCE KNOWLES and ALI LARTER for “OBSESSION”
Tom Cruise opens the award show in character as his Tropic Thunder character, Les Grossman, as he talks with Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Will Smith, Jayden Smith, and Michael Cera.
Aziz Ansari opens with parodies of “The Blind Side” and “Precious” and meets Justin Bieber. Then he rips 3D movies and “Twilight.”
ADAM SANDLER, CHRIS ROCK, KEVIN JAMES, DAVID SPADE, and ROB SCHNEIDER presenting BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE

JONAH HILL, DIDDY, and RUSSELL BRAND presenting BEST BREAKOUT STAR
WINNER: ANNA KENDRICKS for “UP IN THE AIR”
Tom Cruise crashes “The Hangover” song and does some interpretive dancing of his own…with the help of J. Lo!
STEVE CARRELL and PAUL RUDD presenting BEST SCARED AS SH*T PERFORMANCE
WINNER: AMANDA SEYFRIED for “JENNIFER’S BODY”
The trailer for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows” was just released!
Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel presented the Best Kiss Award with a Kiss Cam. Hilarity ensued. The winners were Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for “Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
Katy Perry, blue wig and all, and Snoop Dogg rocked the house with their summer anthem “California Gurls.”
Scarlett Johanssen, Bradley Cooper, and Betty White presenting the MTV Generation Award to Sandra Bullock. We got a look back at Bullock’s long list of work along with a standing ovation. And she just liplocked with Johanssen!
MICHAEL CERA, KIERAN CULKIN, AUBREY PLAZA, and ANNA KENDRICKS presenting BEST WTF MOMENT
WINNER: KEN JEONG for “THE HANGOVER”
Chaos ensued as Eva Mendes, Dwayne Johnson, and Samuel L. Jackson presented the Best Villain Award while Will Ferrell and Mark Walhberg crashed the stage. The award went to Tom Felton for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
