“Get Him to the Greek,” “Killers,” “Marmaduke” and “Splice” were no match for “Shrek Forever After” as the ogre and his fairytale pals took the top spot at the box office for the third week in a row, reports EW.com.

“Greek” got the closest to defeating “Shrek,” but the Russell Brand and Jonah Hill comedy still lagged $8 million behind the final movie in the ogre franchise.

“Sex and the City 2″ and “Prince of Persia” both saw significant drops this weekend reporting at least 50 percent declines in sales from their opening weekends.

“Shrek Forever After” earned $25.3 million this weekend. And despite topping the box offices for three weekends in a row, the film’s total is still only $183 million, much lower than the previous “Shrek” films. “Get Him to the Greek” brought in an estimated $17.4 million in its opening weekend in theaters. The Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl action comedy “Killers” earned $16.1 million, earning it the third spot at the box office. “Persia” and “Sex and the City 2″ took the fourth and fifth spots earning $13.8 million and $12.6 million respectively. “Marmaduke” brought in only $11.3 million, earning it sixth place this weekend.
