Katy Perry to Host Teen Choice Awards

Following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, pop singer Katy Perry will be hosting the Teen Choice Awards, reports EW.com. Perry, whose sophomore album “Teenage Dream” hits stores August 24, will be at the helm when the show airs on August 9. The “California Gurl” singer is also set to perform during the telecast. With her ever-changing hair color, catchy songs, and upbeat personality, it is really no question as to why she was chosen to host an award show for teens.
 
According to the show’s Twitter page, Perry’s co-host and the nominees will be announced later this week.

The Teen Choice Awards airs at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, August 9, 2010 on FOX. In the Twitterverse it seems that while some are excited over the choice of host, others feel that the singer should stick to making music.
