“Dancing With the Stars” crowned its season 10 winner tonight, reports EW.com. The Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger was awarded the mirror ball. Her and her partner Derek Hough beat out finalists Evan Lysacek and Erin Andrews and their respective partners in the finale. Lysacek was the runner-up while Andrews finished in third place.

Scherzinger consistently did well during the season, scoring a perfect 30 several times during the competition. Twitterers congratulated the singer on her win, but many thought that as a singer and dancer, she had an unfair advantage.

Season 10 of “Dancing with the Stars” is wrapping up the competition, eliminating football player Chad Ochocinco and finalizing its top three with singer Nicole Scherzinger, Olympic ice skater Evan Lysacek and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews on last night’s results show, reports People.com.

While Ochocinco’s run on DWTS is over, fans will be able to continue watching him on reality TV, as he has signed on for “The Tournament,” the VH1 dating show where he will be searching for a girlfriend  among 85 possibilities. The number 85 obviously is a reference to his favorite number and legal last name, Ochocinco.

The top three will be competing next Monday for the chance to win the mirror ball trophy on Tuesday, May 25’s season finale. Tweeps are lamenting the loss of Ochocinco and picking their winners.

Former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson was eliminated from Tuesday evening’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars,” CBS News reports.  Anderson’s elimination came on the heels of “Dancing With the Stars” alumna Julianne Hough’s announcement that she will return to the show for season 11.  Hough left the show two seasons ago to pursue a career in country music.

Anderson’s elimination came after a low-scoring waltz performance on Monday night’s episode and because of her inability to redeem herself during Tuesday night’s episode.  ESPN reporter Erin Andrews joined Anderson in the bottom two, but ultimately made it back for next week’s competition.

Some tweeps were sad to see Anderson make her exit, while others felt more enthusiastic to see their favorite celebrities saved from elimination.  Tweeps also reacted to Julianne Hough’s planned return to next season’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

“Dancing With the Stars” celebrity and recent “Bachelor” Jake Pavelka is no stranger to elimination rounds, but on last night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” he was on the receiving end of the elimination. According to People.com, an emotional Pavelka was the latest celebrity to be knocked out of the reality ballroom dancing competition. 

Following Monday’s tangos, sambas, and swing competitions, Pavelka and his partner, and Niecy Nash and her partner found themselves in the bottom two. With Pavelka’s elimination, six couples remain in competition.

Some tweeps shared Pavelka’s pain from being eliminated from competition while others felt it was time for him to depart.

After the fourth week of competition, “Dancing With the Stars” sent former “All My Children” star Aiden Turner packing,  EW.com reports. Prior to Turner’s elimination, reality star Kate Gosselin and actress Niecy Nash were the last two dancers to be announced as safe. Singer Sade dazzled audiences with two performances throughout the evening.

After receiving only 13 out of a possible 30 points, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin was the latest celebrity to be eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars,” MTV.com reports.  Aldrin and his partner, Ashly Costa, performed their waltz one more time before leaving the show. Reba McEntire also performed during Tuesday evening’s results show.

Former reality star Kate Gosselin narrowly escaped elimination, landing in the bottom three, despite scoring in the bottom two after Monday night’s performance.  Tweeps reacted to the latest elimination and offered their opinions on this season’s celebrity lineup.

Former ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ star Shannen Doherty was the first ‘Dancing With the Stars’ celebrity to be eliminated from competition, MTV.com reports. 

After scoring only 20 points on Monday evening, Doherty landed in the bottom two with ‘Baywatch’ actress Pamela Anderson. Before elimination during Tuesday evening’s show, Doherty and Anderson went head to head to secure the remaining spot. On the other hand, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger crushed the competition, scoring 28 out of 30 points.

Tuesday evening’s performance also featured the sounds of the “Beach Boys” with “Full House” alum John Stamos on the drums.  The boys dazzled the audience with “Kokomo” and “California Girls.” 

Tweeps were disappointed to see Doherty’s early departure from ‘Dancing With the Stars,” believing that other stars were more deserving of elimination.

Season 10 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” returned last night with 11 new celebrities and a new co-host. Brooke Burke, the Season 7 champion who replaced former host Samantha Harris, joined host Tom Bergeron to kick off the competition.

Each of the 11 couples danced either the Cha Cha Cha or the Viennese Waltz. The Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough scored 25/30 for their Viennese Waltz, earning the highest score. 80-year-old former astronaut Buzz Aldrin and his partner Ashly Costa danced the Cha Cha Cha, but despite positive remarks from the judges about Aldrin’s bravery in competing in the show, the duo only scored 14/30, the lowest score of the premiere episode.

Fortunately for Aldrin, no one was eliminated during the premiere. Next Monday, all of the pairs will dance again and the first elimination will occur on Tuesday night.

DWTS fans tweeted their support for their favorite celebrities, with many tweeting directly at the stars themselves.

The model and dancing star has hosted numerous shows including “E! Wild On” and the music competition “Rock Star.” There had been reports that Burke was competing for the job alongside other DWTS alumni including Melissa Rycroft, Vanessa Minnillo and Spice Girls Mel B. Rycroft and Mel B.

For those who tuned in to watch ice dancing during the Winter Olympics and found themselves intrigued and fascinated, there is good news: ABC is planning to launch an ice dancing reality competition series later this year, confirmed EW.com.

If this sounds like ABC’s hit show, “Dancing With the Stars,” it’s because it is indeed similar in concept. More specifically, the show will be following the pattern of a similar show on BBC called “Strictly Ice Dancing.” Six celebrities will be paired with six professional ice skaters, and each pair will compete against the others. The main difference, of course, is the addition of ice skates.

Confirmation for the show comes at a time when audiences are still on post-Olympics cloud nines. The show, however, will not debut until later in the year.  Already the Twitterverse seems full of many skeptics of the new show, but there were also a few hopefuls:
