The nominees for the 2010 Emmys were announced this morning by Sofia Vergara (”Modern Family”) and Joel McHale (”Community”). Leading the nominations were HBO’s “The Pacific” and AMC’s “Mad Men” and freshmen comedies “Glee” and “Modern Family.” For a detailed list of nominees, check out EW.com.

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmys will be hosted by talk-show host Jimmy Fallon on August 29. It will be the first Emmy Awards to air live coast-to-coast since 1976.

This week,  members of the board for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences made two major announcements. On Monday, Variety reported that the Academy had decided to keep the Emmy for “Main Title Theme Music.” Earlier this year, the board had debated changing the award to one for “Original Documentary Scores.” However, that decision was nixed by the board’s vote of 85-36 in favor of keeping the award.

Today NBC reported that Joel McHale (”Community”) and Sofia Vergara (”Modern Family”) would be the nomination announcers. The nominations will be announced live on July 8 at 5:30 a.m.

As Breaking Tweets Entertainment reported recently, the 2010 Emmy’s will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon and will air live from coast-to-coast.

On August 29th, 2010, it won’t matter if you live on the East Coast, the West Coast, or anywhere in between, because according to Broadcasting & Cable, NBC will be airing the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards live from coast-to-coast.

The awards show’s first telecast was broadcast live in 1955 throughout the country. This year, however, will be the first time since 1976, when the Emmys aired on ABC, that the awards show will be broadcasted live coast-to-coast. A live awards show throughout all time zones will prevent those in earlier time zones from spoiling the winning results for those in later ones.
