Audiences know Zach Braff as the quirky narrator of the hit television show “Scrubs.” Now, after nine seasons, Braff has announced via his Facebook fan page that his time on the show is finished. “Many of you have asked,” he wrote, ”so here it is: It appears that ‘New Scrubs,’ ‘Scrubs 2.0,’ ‘Scrubs with new kids,’ ‘Scrubbier,’ ‘Scrubs without JD’ is no more. It was worth a try, but alas … it didn’t work. zb”

Yahoo! News reported that the series has gone through various changes over the past few seasons, including a network switch between NBC and ABC, and season nine’s most evident change – a new, younger cast. Braff himself was only present in a few episodes this past season, while the regular cast members from the first eight seasons made guest appearances. Even though network representatives haven’t made an official decision regarding the future of the comedy, ratings for the current season have slipped, especially in light of ABC’s newer, more prominent comedies, such as “Modern Family.”

The Twitterverse seems disheartened over the decision to end “Scrubs.” The majority though, agree that the show just was not the same without Braff and the original cast.

Izzie is no more. Katherine Heigl, who portrays Dr. Isobel Stevens on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that her last episode on the show has already aired back in January.

After months of speculation, the actress and ABC Studios have finally reached a mutual agreement to release Heigl from her contract, which was not set to expire for another 18 months. Heigl cited wanting to be with her newly adopted daughter, Naleigh, as her reason.

Season 10 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” returned last night with 11 new celebrities and a new co-host. Brooke Burke, the Season 7 champion who replaced former host Samantha Harris, joined host Tom Bergeron to kick off the competition.

Each of the 11 couples danced either the Cha Cha Cha or the Viennese Waltz. The Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough scored 25/30 for their Viennese Waltz, earning the highest score. 80-year-old former astronaut Buzz Aldrin and his partner Ashly Costa danced the Cha Cha Cha, but despite positive remarks from the judges about Aldrin’s bravery in competing in the show, the duo only scored 14/30, the lowest score of the premiere episode.

Fortunately for Aldrin, no one was eliminated during the premiere. Next Monday, all of the pairs will dance again and the first elimination will occur on Tuesday night.

The model and dancing star has hosted numerous shows including “E! Wild On” and the music competition “Rock Star.” There had been reports that Burke was competing for the job alongside other DWTS alumni including Melissa Rycroft, Vanessa Minnillo and Spice Girls Mel B. Rycroft and Mel B.

The new season of “Dancing With the Stars” premieres on ABC on Monday, March 22 with a two-hour special at 8 p.m. EST. It seems that the Twitter-nation is divided on whether or not Burke is the better choice compared to Melissa Rycroft.

On August 29th, 2010, it won’t matter if you live on the East Coast, the West Coast, or anywhere in between, because according to Broadcasting & Cable, NBC will be airing the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards live from coast-to-coast.

The awards show’s first telecast was broadcast live in 1955 throughout the country. This year, however, will be the first time since 1976, when the Emmys aired on ABC, that the awards show will be broadcasted live coast-to-coast. A live awards show throughout all time zones will prevent those in earlier time zones from spoiling the winning results for those in later ones.

For those who tuned in to watch ice dancing during the Winter Olympics and found themselves intrigued and fascinated, there is good news: ABC is planning to launch an ice dancing reality competition series later this year, confirmed EW.com.

If this sounds like ABC’s hit show, “Dancing With the Stars,” it’s because it is indeed similar in concept. More specifically, the show will be following the pattern of a similar show on BBC called “Strictly Ice Dancing.” Six celebrities will be paired with six professional ice skaters, and each pair will compete against the others. The main difference, of course, is the addition of ice skates.

Confirmation for the show comes at a time when audiences are still on post-Olympics cloud nines. The show, however, will not debut until later in the year.  Already the Twitterverse seems full of many skeptics of the new show, but there were also a few hopefuls:

With her daughter Bristol to star in ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” later this year, it was only fitting that ex-Alaskan governor Sarah Palin would find her own spot on television. The former vice-presidential candidate is teaming up with well-known reality show producer Mark Burnett (”Survivor,” “The Apprentice”) to pitch her own docudrama in Hollywood this week, Entertainment Weekly.com reports.

Palin has been seen leaving  ABC, Fox and CBS this week and she still plans to meet with NBC to pitch her idea for a “planet-Earth type look” of her home state of Alaska.

According to EW.com, 25-year-old Facebook-employee Ali Fedotowsky will be the star of the newest season of “The Bachelorette.”

Fedotowsky was one of the final four women on the most recent season of “The Bachelor,” with Bachelor Jake Pavelka, when she left the show in order to save her job at Facebook. Now she’s back to find a man who’s “‘funny,’ ’smart,’ and ‘kind of quirky,’” starting May 24 on ABC.

Fedotowsky had some support on Twitter but also faced opposition, especially from those who felt she wouldn’t be committed enough to do the show.

The dancer lineup for the 2010 season of “Dancing With the Stars” was announced today during the finale of “The Bachelor,” reports EW.com. Included are Baywatch alum Pamela Anderson, Kate Gosselin of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” Olympic champion figure skater Evan Lysacek, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews.

The 10th season, which will begin March 22 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC, will also feature Chad Ochocinco of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, actor Aiden Turner and actresses Shannen Doherty and Niecy Nash. After “The Bachelor” finale was concluded, it was revealed that this season’s bachelor, Jake Pavelka, would also be competing on the show.

According to Deadline Hollywood, there won’t be any performances from Best Original Song nominees at this year’s Academy Awards.

In the past the nominees performed their songs on stage, often appearing like mini-musicals. This year, executive producers of the broadcast, Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic, have decided that a mixture of audio clips of each nominated song and footage from their respective movies will suffice in order to make the show shorter.

The decision received both praise and criticism from tweeps.
