“Real Housewives” Stars Will Guest-Host “Today Show”

Cast members from Bravo’s “Real Housewives” series will serve as guest-hosts on NBC’s “Today Show,” according to Broadcasting & Cable.

For the week of June 15, a member from each of the show’s four seasons will fill in for regular 4th-hour host Kathie Lee Gifford, who will be on vacation.

The planned hosts are New York housewife Bethenny Frankel, Danielle Staub of the New Jersey season, Atlanta housewife NeNe Leakes, and season one Orange County housewife Tamra Barney.

“Real Housewives” Expanding to D.C., Maybe Chicago

Bravo announced this week that their next addition to the reality series “Real Housewives” will take place in Washington D.C., according to PEOPLE.com. The original show, “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” first aired in 2006 and sparked three spin-offs in New York, Atlanta and New Jersey.

According to YahooNews. and E!Online, there is no air date set and no housewives have been cast yet, but Bravo’s executive vice president said that they are looking for D.C. women who are “influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders”.

The Twitterverse expressed mixed feelings about the show’s newest locale:

There is also talk of casting for a Chicago edition, an independent project started by Towers Productions and not related to Bravo, the Chicago Sun-Times.com reported. The Towers casting director said that the hope is to find a group of women who can bring “a new twist” to the show.

Twitterers Await Bravo’s “The Fashion Show”

Tonight Bravo will premiere its new reality program, “The Fashion Show.” Hosted by singer Kelly Rowland and designer Isaac Mizrahi, the show follows fifteen upcoming designers through a series of challenges and eliminations. The finalist wins the opportunity to have their designs sold.

The reality series will boost a niche suffering from the loss of the similar program “Project Runway” to Lifetime. But the reviews aren’t looking too good. The Los Angles Times, The Chicago Tribune and Entertainment Weekly all give the pilot thumbs down. Members of Twitterville noticed the reviews with mixed responses.

The negative reviews left a few worried about how it will compare to “Project Runway.”

“Project Runway” moves to Lifetime

“Project Runway” was given the green light to make it work over on Lifetime. The popular show’s sixth season was delayed for months after The Weinstein Co. opted to move the show from NBC’s Bravo network to Lifetime. The Weinstein Co. agreed to “pay NBC Universal an undisclosed sum to move the series from NBC’s Bravo to Lifetime,” according to Reuters.

“Runway,” hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, finished season five in October of 2008. The show takes 16 fashion designers and puts them through a series of challenges to win the ultimate prize: money to launch their own clothing line. The new season will being airing on Aug. 20.
