MTV Cancels “The Hills”

The hit MTV reality show “The Hills” is coming to an end this season, Entertainment Weekly reports. After six seasons on the air, producers felt that the show achieved what it had aimed for in portraying the lives of young people trying to navigate ups and downs – and usually lots of drama – in Los Angeles.

The producers have, however, revealed that there will be plenty of loose ends tied up in the final season, which begins on April 27th at 10 p.m. Viewers can expect to see more of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s relationship during the final episodes. Another topic revolving around Heidi is her dramatic plastic surgery-induced transformation, which she will reveal to her mother on camera. The final 12 episodes will also include Audrina Patridge’s dating life, Kristin Cavallari dealing with drug abuse rumors, among other topics. The question on fans’ minds, though is whether or not Lauren Conrad, the former star of the show, will return for the final season. Producers are keeping quiet, but do promise a “satisfying conclusion.”

Tweeps agree that LC was the heart of “The Hills,” and the majority feel like the show was incomplete without her.

“Twilight” Producers Making Lauren Conrad’s “L.A. Candy” Into Movie

According to Variety, reality star turned designer and author Lauren Conrad’s debut novel “L.A. Candy” will be made into a movie by Temple Hill Entertainment, the producers of the “New Moon” and “Eclipse” movies of the “Twilight Saga” series.

The book, which has been on The New York Times’ Best Seller list for 14 weeks since its publication in June, follows the life of 19-year-old reality star Jane Roberts. Two sequels are currently being planned.

The movie deal didn’t generate much excitement in the Twitterverse:

Lauren Conrad Makes Best-Seller List

“The Hills” alum Lauren Conrad can add best-selling author to the list of her accomplishments after her novel “L.A. Candy” topped the New York Times Best Seller list two weeks in a row.

Conrad told PEOPLE.com, “If someone said to me five years ago when this all started that I would one day make the “New York Times” Best Seller list I wouldn’t have believed it. I am so honored that it is now a reality.”

“Hills” Finale: LC Says Goodbye

“The Hills” star Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad bid farewell to her MTV family tonight as the show’s fifth season came to a close. And in true “Hills” fashion, drama was the theme of the night.

During the episode, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt officially tied the knot in a lavish church wedding in front of friends, family, castmates –and a surprise crasher, Kristin Cavallari, who will be joining the cast next season.

Kristin Cavallari Joins “The Hills”

It’s out with the old and in with new on “The Hills.” “Laguna Beach” alumna Kristin Cavallari will replace the departing Lauren Conrad during the MTV series’ sixth season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Cavallari will make her first appearance during the show’s May 31st season finale at Heidi Montag and Spender Pratt’s wedding.

Conrad and Cavallari became fast rivals back in 2004 when they both vied for the same boy, co-star Stephen Colletti, on “Laguna Beach.” Now three years since that show ended, Cavallari couldn’t help but start her new gig with a slight snub to Conrad.

The 22-year-old said she’ll showcase her energy and spontaneity, when asked how she’s be different from the Conrad. Cavallari also said she plans to put more of her love life on-screen. “It’s a TV show and they need to make it entertaining,” she said.

Co-stars Montag and Pratt told Entertainment Weekly they welcome the change. They credit Cavillari for introducing them and say they are looking forward to her joining the crew.

“The Hills” to Return Without Lauren Conrad

According to People.com,”The Hills” will be continuing its fifth season in the fall without the show’s leading lady, LC–otherwise known as Lauren Conrad. A press release from MTV stated that “the drama continues with fresh faces, new stories and shocking surprises.”

People.com and LATimes.com are asking viewers if they will keep watching the show despite the fact that Lauren is leaving.

Most Twitterers are saying no, expressing disappointment in not only another season but one without the main star.
