The ladies of the Upper East Side better make room for the new girl in town.  Or rather, the new girl at New York University.

According to EW.com, actress-singer Hilary Duff has joined the cast of “Gossip Girl” for its third season.  Duff, who will be in an unspecified number of episodes, will play “a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience.”
