In what was expected to be a tight race for the top of the Box Office, it turns out the competition wasn’t even close. Initial reports claimed “Date Night” and “Clash of the Titans” were in a too-close-to-call contest; some even claimed “Date Night” the victor. When the final results came in, however, “Clash of the Titans” reigned supreme, beating out “Date Night” by more than $1 million per EW.com. “Titans” earned $26.6 million and “Date Night” made $25.2 million.

Coming in third was Dreamworks’ “How to Train Your Dragon,” which earned $25.4 million in its third weekend. “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too” took the fourth spot earning $11 million and “The Last Song” rounded out the top five with $10.1 million according to USA Today.

The remake of the 1981 film “Clash of the Titans” broke Easter weekend box office records with a $61.4 million intake, reports EW.com. The fantasy film about the Greek myth of Perseus was the latest in a line of 3-D releases.

Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Too” opened at $30 million, followed closely by the animated 3-D film “How to Train Your Dragon,” which grossed $29.2 million during its second weekend.

ABC’s Barbara Walters unveiled her choices for the “Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009″ during a special presentation that aired Wednesday evening, ABCnews.com reports.  Walters’ picks featured newsmakers from entertainment, politics, sports, and music.  First Lady Michelle Obama, “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ star Kate Gosselin, singer Lady Gaga,  former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and the late Michael Jackson’s three children were among the people featured during the special.

Also featured were FOX News host Glenn Beck, musician Adam Lambert, filmmaker Tyler Perry, NFL quarterback Brett Favre, and South Carolina’s first lady Jenny Sanford.

The book-based film “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” was first at the box office this weekend, taking in $30 million, according to EW.com.  The animated film’s popularity calls into question the draw of movie stars, as it beat out several films with A-list actors.

In second was “The Informant!,” starring Matt Damon, which grossed an estimated $10.5 million. The much-hyped “Jennifer’s Body,” starring Megan Fox and written by “Juno” scribe Diablo Cody, earned just $6.8 million.

The romantic comedy “Love Happens” and Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” took fourth and fifth places, respectively.  “I Can Do  Bad” came in first last week.

Tyler Perry’s latest movie, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” came in first at the box office, nothing unusual for the directors films, according to a report from EW.com.

As expected, the film dominated its competition by grossing $24 million, more than doubling the next closest film, “9,” which took in $10.9 million.

According to the report, Perry has made eight films in only five years, five of which have debuted at the top of the charts.
