Don’t start inscribing the championship plaque with “Tigers” just yet, not with an “if necessary” game yet to be played.

No. 1 Texas jumped onto the LSU pitching early then got an outstanding complete-game effort from starting pitcher Taylor Jungmann in the Longhorns’ 5-1 victory in Game 2 of the championship series, forcing a deciding game Wednesday night, per ESPN.com.

Jungmann, after a brief, unsuccessful relief appearance in Game 1, shut down the LSU bats, allowing just one run and five hits over the nine innings.

Russell Moldenhauer came into the College World Series with no homeruns. The designated hitter connected for a homerun in a three-run third inning for Texas. It was Moldenhauer’s fourth homerun of the tournament, tieing a CWS-record.
