The talk of the sports world among tweeters, male college students and any avid sports viewer around the country has been the fact that some sick individual video taped Erin Andrews naked in her hotel room.  Now, most of the time I would be the first to say, “You’re famous.  You have to plan for this.”  But there was no planning for this.  This is the ultimate in invading someone’s privacy.

Erin Andrews is very attractive, and has given false hope to many other very attractive girls who “like sports” and think “it would be cool to do what she does.”  But the truth is EA is one-of-one.  She is the perfect storm of sports knowledge, journalistic prowess and beauty.  Not to mention, she seems extremely down-to-earth in interviews.  She works hard to break the stereotype of being just a hot chick with a microphone, and it shows.

Despite her constant name dropping, I gained a lot respect for Erin Andrews after seeing this video of a talk she gave at her alma mater (UF).  She is a professional and strives to be known for her craft.  ABC News believes whoever filmed her had inside information or access.  I can’t say that I disagree.  Common sense tells me that whoever the videographer/pervert was, obviously knew her schedule, or was sitting there in the hallway of her hotel with a video camera on the peephole for a very long period of time.

It is obvious this wasn’t a one-time thing, based on the fact that the hotel room furniture was different in a couple of the videos according to ABC News.  The crew that travels with Andrews should be ready for some serious questioning in the near future.  I will laugh hysterically when they find this guy and EA goes after him with a stiletto, then takes ownership of his home, and possibly send him to jail.

I say possibly because, according to ABC News, investigators still have no idea where this video was shot, and only 19 states have laws that ban surreptitiously recording someone without that person’s consent.

We’ll see what happens.  You can bet we haven’t heard the end of this though.
